Topic: Competitive Intelligence & Corporate Espionage

This session discusses what competitive intelligence and corporate espionage are and the threats they pose to all organizations.

We will discuss who the actors are, some of the common techniques used to conduct competivitive intelligence and industrial espionage, and some techniques to protect ourselves. In addition, we will discuss some of the more highly-publicized incidents in recent days to help illustrate the seriousness and significance of the problem.

Presenter BIO:
Danny has been a member of Aon Corporation's Information Security Services team for 10 years and is instrumental in the development and refinement of corporate security policies, standards, and procedures. Specializing in security awareness training, Danny is responsible for the delivery of key security awareness training for the organization, as well as for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the technical corporate information security website.

Danny's involvement also includes conducting security audits, security vulnerability and risk assessments on E-commerce sites and internal systems. Additionally, he functions as a consulting engineer and architect for secure network systems, with extensive involvement in the deployment of E-Mail content filtering and virus scanning. Danny is a key member of the Information Security Incident Response Team, where he assists with incident handling. He also evaluates and recommends security products for his company. Danny is also an instructor in the Computer Security and Forensics Investigation program at Wilbur Wright College, where he assists with the development of the curriculum. He is frequently invited to speak on Internet and security-related topics to both laymen and information security professionals.

Danny has a Bachelor's of Science Degree from Penn State University and has studied towards a Master's Degree in Computer Science at Queen's College in New York.
