FREE SECURE WEB APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT LUNCH ‘n LEARN
WHAT: The Computer Security & Forensic Investigation Department at Wilbur Wright College, with a grant from the Illinois Department of Homeland Security, will be offering 4 free lunch ‘n learn sessions on the topic of secure web application development.
(In 4 parts)
This series of introductory lectures is designed to provide background and context regarding the large number of vulnerable web applications that are deployed and are being developed. The 2007 OWASP Top 10 is an enumeration of ten of the most common or risky classes of vulnerabilities found in web applications today. In each session we will…
* Examine a different class of vulnerabilities
* Show examples of common attacks that take advantage of these vulnerabilities
* Describe some noteworthy incidents as a result of these weaknesses
* Discuss some broad classes of controls and countermeasures to help you build robust and more secure web applications
You will learn about the fundamental security issues affecting web applications and how you can start to develop more secure web applications.
Each lecture will focus on a different part of the OWASP Top 10. You will maximize your learning experience by attending all 4 lectures.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Application Developers, Application Testers, System Architects, and anybody else involved in web application development lifecycle.
LEARNING LEVEL: Basic to intermediate

WHERE: All sessions will be held at the City Colleges of Chicago District Office - 226 West Jackson Boulevard, Chicago, IL 60606 – 3rd Floor Conference Room #322. Conveniently located downtown at the North West corner of Jackson and Franklin.
Lectures and the boxed lunches will be provided by Wright College and Illinois Department of Homeland Security.
